Overview
The Brand & Visual Designer brings the Audio Gumbo brand to life through high-quality event flyers, merchandise graphics, and branded visuals. This role maintains a consistent visual identity across all Audio Gumbo projects, including Slow Drag, The Jheri Curl, and other events and campaigns. The ideal candidate is a strong visual storyteller with a deep understanding of Black cultural aesthetics and an eye for vintage-inspired design.
Key Responsibilities
Design custom monthly event flyers for Audio Gumbo experiences like Slow Drag
Create occasional graphics for social media, marketing, and promotions
Collaborate on visual concepts for merch, signage, and decor for special events
Maintain and evolve the brand’s visual identity across projects
Contribute ideas for visual presentation and brand consistency when needed
Qualifications
Strong portfolio of graphic design work with a focus on branding and event visuals
Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite or similar design tools
Understanding of vintage and culturally rich aesthetics
Excellent communication and ability to take creative direction
Collaborative and responsive, with the ability to meet deadlines
Compensation
Monthly Retainer: $200/month
Includes 1 custom flyer per month, up to 2 additional graphics, and availability for design input or consultation
Additional compensation available for merchandise design or large-scale creative projects
